This hotel is made completely out of ice, the furniture and décor included. The hotel was first constructed in the late 1980s and is built and re built each winter, so the style is constantly evolving. It has an ice bar where you can get cocktails served in, of course, ice glasses, be careful when you place them down on the ice bench as ice glasses and ice benches make for a very slippery surface! This hotel grows in popularity each year so you need to make sure you book ahead as this hotel is often booked out for the upcoming winter season.
Ariau Amazon Towers Hotel, Brazil
This is a very special hotel, also referred to as a Tree Top Lodge which is built amongst the tree tops of the glorious Amazon jungle in Brazil. Within minutes you are transported from this hotel into the depths of the jungle where you can see first hand the magical wildlife and tribes that surround the area. The views from the rooms are amazing as you are situated directly above and amongst the jungle. Be prepared to splash your cash, this tree top haven is not cheap.
Poseidon Undersea Resort, Fiji
If you thought you’d seen it all, brace yourselves, the Poseidon Undersea Resort is a luxury hotel situated 40 feet underwater on the floor of a Fijian Lagoon. The mind marvels at how such a hotel was constructed. Guests are transported to their suites by an elevator where they will find their room which is mostly covered in 100mm thick clear acrylic which enables them view the coral gardens and the ocean beyond. The resort will be opened in 2010 so keep your eyes peeled for special opening deals as the going rate is expected to be astronomical.
